Hello Creators!

We are pleased to announce that our Featured Creators section in the IMVU Next Shop is currently accepting applications.

Applying for this is pretty easy.

Please send an email to creator.showcase@imvu.com with the following information:

1. Your avatar name and your customer ID number

2. What category in the catalog your best products fall into (you can choose more than one category, but no more than five. Categories would be like "Women's Tops" or "Men's Hair" or "Women's Accessories".

3. At least one and up to five links to your best products.
(just like this: http://www.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=167)

4. Please attach at least one and up to five images of your recent products that you feel captures who you are as a Creator.

Please double check that you have included all needed information and your pictures.

We will be accepting entries on a rolling basis, so please feel free to submit at any time.

⛔⛔⛔⛔⛔⛔⛔⛔
Some tips to improve your chances of being selected:

1. This should be obvious, but if your catalog is full of copyrighted products, you are not going to be selected for the Showcase. An example would be if you have a product called "iPhone 6".

2. We want to showcase our active Creators! Unless there is a real lack of products in a category you excel in, if you haven't submitted to the catalog in six months it's unlikely you will end up in the Showcase. (Six months is not an exact cutoff time. If you haven't submitted anything new to the catalog this year, you may want to spend some time creating before submitting to the Showcase.)

3. The things you create should just work as-is. An example of something that may be a wonderful product but not so great for the Showcase is two-tone eyes. You might be a super amazing Creator, but if you have a catalog full of two-tone eyes that only work on two-tone eye heads, this could be a frustrating experience for a new user, or anyone shopping the catalog who doesn't use one of these heads.

4. ZCD. You might have the best looking catalog on IMVU, but if it's full of Zero change derives, that is not the creativity and talent we are looking to put in the Showcase.

These are the most obvious reasons you might not make the Showcase, but not the only reasons. We will cover more later and also work on finding a way to communicate with Creators so that some who have been left out can be included going forward.

FAQ:

Q: I'm a furniture/room Creator, what about me?
A: You can still apply but as you may be aware there is no place in the Next catalog for your items...yet.

Q: When will furniture and rooms be part of this as well?
A: Multiple teams at IMVU are working hard to make this happen. Please don't think we have forgotten about Room and Furniture Creators, it's complicated but it is a priority right now. We want this just as much as you do.

Q: What size should images be?
A: It's up to you, really. These are only used as a virtual portfolio of your work when submitting, and are not the images that will be featured.

Plenty more room for questions and answers, so ask away!

hi, I asked this before in the IMVU forums but never got an answer. do the products you submit HAVE to be from a mesh you make? or can they be from a derivable mesh of someone elses?

I really don't know. BUT I can't imagine you would have to be a mesher to be selected. That just wouldn't make sense.

I think you just have to be good and market well.

Something I really hate about the creator showcase is the lack of variety.
Now I admit, I'm salty because I never get picked, but even so, I rarely see any sort of variety despie all the creativity that is in the catalogue.
