Marketing Your Products in IMVU

Post by Notorious Chicka » Sat Feb 25, 2017 5:46 am

For those of you who know me, a passion of mine has always been to analyze the Marketing & Advertising aspect of products within IMVU.

With IMVU's latest (insensitive) decision to reduce their forums to spammy instagram/facebook postings - we have to find yet another way to become visible in marketing our wares and getting our name out there with what remains.

I haven't figured it out yet. But I am not going to give up no matter what roadblock they throw at us.This has gone on for my 11 plus years and we always can find a way.

So let's mention and discuss what we do have at our hands for tools of the trade:

1 - Pulse Posting
2 - Photo Streaming (My offsite gaf-link: http://gaf210.imvustylez.net/photostream/?u=Notorious)
3 - Home Page Messages
4 - Shout Outs (can't imagine these are long to survive)
5 - Gifting
6 - Sponsorship of Events
7 - Groups
8 - Their NEW Discussion Board
9 - Facebook/Instagram/Twitter
10 - USE of the Chat Client/Socialization

If I missed anything that you use - please share (if willing) and let's help our friends create their success.

(I will come back and add more to this as the forum becomes active. - LOTS to do this morning!)

Are you okay with it if I also add my marketing tutorials to this forum at some point as well? They could use a new home but it's fine if you want to create marketing tutorials instead and without there being duplicates.

Thanks, I think I'll do a little revamping as well before uploading. The advertising thread definitely needs an update.

I use Adplan which for me has been successful. I can see the number of clicks my banners get, as well as the clicks on the selected products I have chosen to be showcased on the various sites linked to Gaf codes. I've noticed the increase of sales have gone hand in hand with the increasing number of banner/product clicks I get. I wish I'd signed up years ago to be honest but I'd always assumed it was expensive to advertise with them lol Oh well, better late than never ;)

I for one would love to see stuff from you posted here. I know for many years I have used your site, as well as probably most here have too. To silence you in a forum is a bad thing. Hearing more about your work is really helpful to all of us, as your work directly affects ours so often. I can't wait to hear more about things you are working on and I will for sure have to check out Adplan myself. :D

We aren't allowed to advertise this forum in Discussion - so I imagine you will not be allowed to link to adplan either.

aww tysm for your kind words hun!! Its not that ive been silenced tbh... just been told to try not to post links to my sites , as while being a forum mod, people could get the wrong idea that the links would be official from imvu or something like that. So i basically depended on others to do the work for me, and it worked great since many other people was kind enough to post links for me :) HUGS you all!

@Keef thanks for the green light about it buddy, i will get my hands on it right away ! :D

Ah yes, that does make sense. I can understand where people would think that. Well glad we have a new place where it won't be confused for IMVU official, and instead IMVU useful. :D
