AKA the reason for Credit Pend

What is Credit Pend
  • IMVU has a delayed payment schedule called Pend.
  • All sales are held for 14 days for IMVU to determine their validity.
  • If in that 14 day period they discover the credits used to purchase the product were fraudulently acquired, or the product was incorrectly rated they will reverse the sale. It will be as if the sale never happened. You will not get paid the credits when the pend was due and the item will be removed from the purchaser’s account.
  • Reasons a sale can be reversed
    • Kids using parents Credit Card or Cell without knowledge/permission
    • Using a Friends Credit Card or Cell without knowledge/permission
    • Using Stolen Credit Cards
    • Using Credits from Hacked Accounts
    • Purchase of Inappropriately Rated Products
Fraudulent Transactions
  • If you have been selling products for any length of time you will occasionally find a message like this in your inbox.
    One of your pended transactions has been reversed.

    Transaction ID BlahBlahBlah has been reversed because it was a fraudulent transaction.

    The money has been removed from your payment details report, and the product purchased in this transaction has been removed from the purchaser’s inventory.

    If you feel this was done in error, please contact us via our Help Center at http://www.imvu.com/help.
  • Know when you get this message, you have done nothing wrong. You do not need to take any action. It is merely to report to you that someone has purchased something of yours with fraudulent credits and that sale has been canceled so you won’t be receiving payment for it.
Product Re-Rates (For Meshers)
  • When someone derives from you and submits the derive with the wrong rating if that incorrect rating is caught within the 14 day credit pend period you will get this message. If you are a popular mesher you’re probably getting them ALL the time. (AKA IMVU inbox spam)
    One of your pended transactions has been reversed.

    Transaction ID BlahBlahBlah has been reversed because the product (product ID BlahBlahBlah) was re-rated by IMVU as per our policies.

    The money has been removed from your payment details report, and the product purchased in this transaction has been removed from the purchaser’s inventory.

    If you have any question about this action, please contact us via our Help Center at http://www.imvu.com/help.
  • Again these Messages don't need any action from you. They are just to inform you that a derived sale as been reversed.
Reversals
  • Very Very VERY Rarely… Did I say rarely? You will get a message saying upon further review the transaction was found to be valid. In that case you will see this message.
    One of your pended transactions has been modified.

    Transaction ID BlahBlahBlah was reviewed and was determined to be valid.

    The money has been added back to your payment details report, and the product purchased in this transaction was added back to the purchaser’s inventory.

I get so many of those....oml, I did not even think of the mesher one where they submit incorrectly rated products.

I had an andro top derived from me that basically left a nude flat chest...for female avis. The person rated it GA initially but it got re-rated.

What if they sold a million of those and it was not rerated and I already had a payout that left me owing big? (unlikely to happen to me, but just as a for-instance) Would IMVU leave me in the negative until the funds come in to replace it? Would they insta ban me until I paid them back?

That is actually pretty freaky to think of...

I can not really monitor every time something has been derived and chase people down to rate things right. I could add a little blurb reminding of the ToS in the description...but if they already did not read the ToS they probably would not read it there either.

As the mesher If it wasn't you that made the rating mistake you will only be effected by reversals if they are still in pend when it is caught. If it happens after the Pend what would then become credit refunds are solely on the creator with the miss-rated product.

That was something we had to fight hard for in IMVU's Content Creator Council when Pend came online.

I am relieved that is solved then.....annoying that it had to be fought for. Since I was not making meshes when the "escrow" -> "pend" came to be I did not really make meshes so I did not think of such things.

(the notifications are still annoying...I kind of wish they could have an option to turn it off. I could still check the transaction history to see the reversals. I get a LOT of reversals..and hardly any reviews that say it actually was legit)
