Misbehaving Actor

Post by Daise2 » Sat Mar 18, 2017 2:12 pm

I've noticed for a few weeks now that my create mode Actor is misbehaving. For example. I load him in, dress him and place him where I want....for example on the male part of a cuddle pose. I then return to the main Editor window and move my avatar onto the other spot....only to find the male actor is still standing like a dummy on a loading spot. As much as I move him around on the Actor window, he remains on a loading spot on the Editor screen. Similarly, my avatar, although on the pose spot in Editor, remains on the loading spot in the Actor window - so basically, neither windows show both avatars together.

The 'fix' as such for me has been to move my actor elsewhere, close his window and re-open a new Actor Tab....this second actor then behaves as he should do.

Anyone else finding this little bug? I'm contemplating whether to open a help ticket for this...I suspect trying to explain this to CS will not be much fun ;)

I have had this issue before I could not get both avatars to join in the same pose spots but If I remember correctly the way round it is to load your main avatar into the spot after you load in your actor avatar, going back to your Editor window to do this, hope this works for you :D

Ya I had this too on a different account. Same deal.

I figured imvu were messing with something, again.

@Gaf - leave it you you to put twisted evil emojis in my head. lol Those poses were innocent! Innocent I tell ya!
And that's why they need a chaperone, apparently. ;)

lol Gaf...you loon lol

Ty Twiddly but its not that problem, this time the actor appears to have moved on his Actor window, but hasn't moved on the main Editor window and the same for the main avatar....it's moved on the Editor window but not on the Actor window. So neither of the windows shows them together. Like I said I've found a bit of a workaround but its just a little annoying.

You're probably right Squeaky, someones messing somewhere :x

Actually my problem was the same but I just had a non English speaking moment and didn't word it correctly (I struggle sometimes with my own language xD) Glad you found a work-a-round though and yes it is SUPER annoying but it's IMVU, we need to make allowances for their inefficiency :D

When I read the thread title, I laughed. I guess it's funny to have a mischievous actor but it gets annoying in the long run.

I decided to close my actor tab to "get them out of the way" while I finished up a skin I was working on.

Instead of disappearing, the actor loaded in the default entry node in the room. I decided to open the actor tab again to try to move him and now I ended up with two actors.

XD I tried closing the actor tab again (I was wondering how many Roy-actors I could make) but I ended up just crashing. Damn, I wish I had more fun with them while I could but I could not really move them around anyway.

Back on the old forums, ET had done this adding in I think 56 actors or something like that. I have added in up to 25 before I got bored lol
