Do IMVU Discussion Posts Count Towards Tier Points? (Split from another thread)

Post by MisterWhite » Tue Mar 07, 2017 10:00 am

Keef do you know if or when IMVU is altering the tier level integration of posting on their forum? These points are useless now?

For now, posting for Tier Points is a thing of the past.

They have said they MAY decide to add it back in with their new 'discussions' at some future date. (We old timers know what that really means)

If they are removing that metric, replacing it with another one, or changing the point spread to compensate for its loss is yet to bee seen.

*Edit to add Staff Quote from IMVU*
How will Creator Tiers be impacted?
Creator tiers will no longer have a forum participation component. We will likely add this back in at a later date.

I would like them to remove the tiers program altogether.

Aye ;) Art is not a form of competition...it can be a form indeed. And this tier points lead to addictions etc...well so many more reasons.

What are your reasons Notorious? I would like to read them :)

I have many. I have never agreed with their criteria.

1 - people buy files. I can buy files...but I don't.
2 - people game tiers by having groups set up to buy their products. They aren't earning business.
3 - tiers data isn't accurate. How do I know this? I manage over 10 accounts. 7 of them have to be manually updated. Their data isn't calculated in the bell curve with everyone else. I have accounts that earned T7 and haven't updated in months. And yes - I reported it to staff over and over and over.
4 - some people earn cash and others don't. I can't compete with Nike (people who don't get cash yet break tos)

there is more...maybe this will stimulate some discussion :)

Thank you Notorious. It is interesting to read you found exactly the same issues or about the same as I do. It is very interesting to read indeed and I love to hear more peoples experiences and opinions indeed.

So if anyone likes to shed some light on theirs than please do so! :) But maybe we need a different topic. It's not maybe suitable for this part of this forum? Anyway thanks again for sharing.

I know that posting for tiers is now out of the metrics, but I'm going to assume that it will stay in peoples data until February's data falls off everyone's data....which would be the June update....

Is why I also still not challenge to submit, in two months when that is fully wiped I will reactivate working on submitions. Purely a metric reason or research - tactical grounds rather even. If peoples points for it dropped...a lot of developers that are now pro...either now already start concentrating more on submitions...instead of posting still. Since either if they are fully tier oriented...they drop in T-level. So I want to see what I exactly position as...to see a main stream measuring against the rest in general. It is a fun way to see this so.

I do this outof joy and not really because of points. It's therefor mainly research reasons. Furthermore is that I have that as only reason, it doesn't mean my 3D creating stopped. I just drop them later now. So in two months maybe again but than with full loads and with a stock on possible submittions for well..like 3 months now. In other words "it doesnt mean I stopped producing" hehehehe
