New metaverse by Linden Lab, Sansar

Post by Elaini » Mon Jun 10, 2019 8:01 am

The makers of Second Life have rolled a new metaverse called Sansar which has an early access right now. The idea of it is to make it work with a VR headset.

I did register my names, though the problem is that this virtual world is way too advanced for my computer not to overheat immediately. And honestly I think VR heatsets as kind of unnecessary for my enjoyment. The virtual world environment would still be confined by the physical limits of our world.

Thanks for the heads-up. This looks very interesting!

I hear that VR 3D chats are very popular in other countries so the market seems potentially large. I can't image a *ton* of people have access to VR headsets (or the beefy computers needed to run them effectively) - which makes me wonder if there's another way users access these types of apps/worlds. That is, you *can* use a VR headset but you could also use it (maybe less effectively) without?

Sounds interesting....However despite VR gaining some popularity. It's going to be awhile before VR is commonplace. Not everyone can afford gaming PCs, especially gaming PCs such as Alienware's Area 51,which is at thousand dollars.

They'd better work on SL2 proper, instead of alienating 99% of potential audience
