This doesn't mean only IMVU, but the use of Flash overall and so it will affect IMVU Flash stickers and furniture widgets as well.
Adobe Plans to Kill the Flash Media Player
How Apple, Microsoft, Google, and Facebook Plan to Eliminate Flash
I thought of creating my own Flash room portal code, but then I read that and decided to wait and see what happens, first. I want to create things that will last the test of time.
IMVU creators have started to ask questions on whether there is or will be HTML5 API to replace the Flash API, pointing out that it's better to start with HTML5 now so that players will work for all with no glitches... but so far there has been no answer from the staff.
HTML5 runs lighter than Flash already, in any case.
But I still have to wonder what will happen in dismantling this ticking time bomb... The new IMVU staff hasn't been displaying solutions of a genius thus far, which is why we're here in the first place.

Ya it 's not like Imvu (or any engineers paying attention) couldn't see it coming. It's not like the browsers haven't been announcing their phasing out of flash for years or anything...
Now Adobe makes it official.
Miramagia (another browser based game I play) has said they are on top of it and have alternative platform at the ready for a 'seamless transition' when the time comes. Most games have much better communication with their users than Imvu.
Does Imvu use any Flash in their base code?? I hope not. I don't suppose they'd tell us if they did. I don't mean to sound all gloom and doom about Imvu but I'm really not fond of them taking the forums away so now there is no base of communication other then these outside forums to refer to.
Guess we'll find out...
