IMVU and Suicide Threats

Post by Roy » Tue Mar 28, 2017 9:01 am

There is an option to file a help ticket for suicide threats...and unfortunately someone very close to me is threatening suicide after growing more depressed.

What exactly does filing an Urgent Safety Ticket do? I had to give them my phone number...

Do they trace to IP to contact authorities? I am really concerned and I do not know how to call them. (he is in another country)

I have contact with him now, and I want him to seek help, but he refuses.

UPDATE: I think he self harmed, but I think the threat may have passed.

Not sure about that ticket but, there are a few things you could do for your friend. My views on the topic are a bit out there, and I will refrain from giving you my personal opinion on the matter, but I do feel, that you shouldn't worry all too much. Sure, I understand you care for your friend but, well, just please try to not lose too much sleep over the matter.

One site you might want to direct them to that is a great resource, and 24-hour help to everyone is https://www.7cups.com/ If your friend is serious about doing this, then 7cups can really help out.

As for this next site, well, as I said I have a much different view on the matter than most people do, so you make the call if you decide to give this link away to them. Also, a warning, I would not pass them this link through IMVU and go through a different platform, if you do decide to pass it to them. http://lostallhope.com/

The second site is a good wake-up call to those truly serious about following through with something like this. The detail it gives to people can strike fear into them of wanting to perform anything too serious. Again, you be the judge if you feel its a good, or bad idea to pass it to them, but for sure direct them at least to 7cups.

Oh ooo-bee-doo, I wanna be like you.
I want to walk like you, talk like you, do.
You'd see it's true, an ape like me,
can learn to be, human, too.

Roy most countries and states have a suicide hot line type thing...have you mentioned that to your friend...there is a site here in Australia he might like to access call Beyond Blue...it's brilliant... here's the address https://www.beyondblue.org.au/ ...the best thing you can do it just be there for your friend...while they are talking about it, generally they say, the person won't do it....it's when they stop talking about it...

Sometimes when someone attempts to kill self or does self harming, they may not even have a full control over themselves. They would be in utter shock afterwards that they did, but they'll remember that it hurt.

I hope your friend is not in such a condition...
