Other online games

Post by SqkyC » Tue Feb 28, 2017 7:15 pm

I play Miramagia pretty much daily. It's a relax thing.

I play sometimes Forge of Empires, occasionally Grepolis and have an account in Smallworlds though it's been a long time since I've logged in. I've joined numerous other games over the years but tend to stick to just those.

I thought about joining some of the larger war games and Second Life, but a) I'm not at all sure my single GEForce GTX580 would handle such a load and b) they are very time consuming and cost money.

What other online games do you like?

Day Z is alright. Emphasis on alright. If you play with a friend (which it seems like that's what your friend wants) it's a lot more exciting and fun. The community can be annoying and if you're starting out all alone you can become overwhelmed with children who just spam kill everybody.

It's worth $30 if you think it's something you're going to play a lot. If not I would suggest picking it up on sale.

Are there any other free to play browser games anymore? Or is that a thing of the past?

I play ( more a chat thing like imvu ) yoworld formerly yoville ,rarely , more just log in to get my work coins or other holiday gifts and so on . So about 1 minute a day I use it . It's basically IMVU for babies but a flat 2D world , you can create but I believe its more of a submit to a contest and hope they pick your junk so no profit at all besides some lame reward , its pretty simple and easy to use . Its super trolly but can be fun in that way . Now everytime I log onto it I think to myself why am I not on IMVU so go there . Anyways at yoworld work where you earn your coins which again is pretty easy , you can earn a million in no time and buy pretty much anything , you need friends though helps to get there faster and so on such as all the bogus zynga games . so if anyone does use it or is interested feel free to add me , its on facebook etc etc social networking sites and I think a stand alone desktop version but I haven't tried it , you can add me I'm guysbot there and everywhere .

There are literally tons of them out there. But there is one issue these days with them. They are pay to win games. If you go the free route, you will slowly crawl, where everyone who does pay, excels past you far too fast. :(

Ya I don't mind that a site needs to make money, everyone must pay the bills. I prefer games with the option to pay for premium stuff as opposed to being bombarded with ads and stuff. I'm liking the German games (travian games, innogames) for this reason as they have much stricter privacy laws there and they are well made games. (yes, they are in English too lol)

I avoid facebook like the plague, so anything that is facebook only is right out for me. Though please feel free to post 'em if you like them others may well enjoy them too. :)

I found a cute little timewaster the other day:

You combine things to make... other things. lol That's it.

That's a good one to kill the time and serves as an educational tool for my daughter as well :)

Star Trek Online is free and a massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Cryptic Studios based on the Star Trek series created by Gene Roddenberry

I didn't play much of this due to time restraint but it's pretty fun so far - https://www.arcgames.com/en/splash/ads/ ... -online-b/

Oh I used to play UO - Ultima Online " ALOT " , basically I'd accomplished more than 100's of people together would do all by myself .
I played for about 10 years straight and were talking 24/7 with multiple accounts , quit cold turkey for many various reasons but . . .
Wicked fun game and I do believe they have a free 30 day thingy but it is pay to play like 10 a month or something . It is kinda like
a Dungeons and Dragons game but multiple worlds ( shards ) , different servers for various real world locations . Which I had set ups
on every single shard/world - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBeA6JHkV1I

UO is 19 years old and this September it will be 20 years old .
With the original Ultima itself being much older ( 1980 ! ) and many various versions afterwards .

I remember playing UO, but wasn't aware of it being in the 80's at all. I started in the late 90's. Was a lot of fun back then. To me, it was the most intense online computer game ever! Trapping people in valleys with magic walls, stuck with really big and bad mobs, to kill them and loot their stuff. Good old times it was. :D

Well what I meant was UO and sorry you probably know this ( its early im not thinkin straight ) - Ultima Online will be 20 years old this September but Ultima the original version as in Commodore 64 bit computer system was from the 80's . PVP was so fun , we probably ran into each other as I knew everyone . The game masters used to follow me around and change the game/rules and whatnot due to what I was doing . . It was uhmm annoying at times but quite a mark of respect , wish they'd given me a job . I've got a lot of good stories . Do you remember what shard you played on ? Atlantic was my main one . . When they opened the Drachenfels shard ( Germany ) I actually met up with the original games creator ( Richard Garriot ) and he was impressed with me and my story so built me a house in the Brittania town where you couldn't build houses . . . Right next to the bank !

Ooh, how OP that house would have been. ;p I don't remember much of those days, also I only learned of UO in the late 90's. Hmm, Atlantic sounds familiar. But again, that was at a different time of my life. Lots of "haze.";p
